Mike is a Data Protection and Security professional with multiple MNCs. Mike spent four years with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Commission as an Investigation Officer and Technical assessor. He was subsequently headhunted to join Grab as the Privacy Engineering Lead, where he set up the Privacy Engineering team within the Infosec team. He then moved to Alibaba Cloud, leading the Privacy and Security Compliance for Australia, Japan, South Korea, and India. He was also the head of SE Asia Enterprise Privacy for ByteDance, focusing on internal privacy and security compliance and providing privacy consultancy and solutions to external partners and clients.

Some of the key initiatives undertaken by him include but are not limited to, Cookies consent, Data Subject Request, Data Protection/ Privacy by Design, APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules and Privacy Recognition for Processor certifications, Data Center security audit, third party privacy and security assurance, data mapping, Data Protection Impact Assessment, data breach incident management, and privacy center. He is also familiar with ISO, SOC and PCI certifications.
