You can take the A-CSPO course at any time after completing your CSPO certification. But, you should have at least 1 year of experience as a Product Owner to receive your A-CSPO certification.
In general Scrum Alliance doesn’t offer online courses as they believe that understanding Scrum requires a higher level of personal interaction which can’t be done in a virtual environment.
But, considering the continuous spread of COVID-19, Scrum Alliance is temporarily allowing all of their courses to be in an online format, including the Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) class without affecting the quality of the training.
The Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner course takes 2-days’ to complete which include both theoretical and practical sessions.
Yes, because Scrum Alliance believes that true learning with a CST or CEC requires in-person instruction.
If you are already a CSPO® holder, then acquiring the Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO℠) certification is the next step in your Agile journey. This certification focuses on the next level of experience and skills that Product Owners need as they dig into more real day-to-day challenges of helping teams and organizations grow and improve.
Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) is a designation offered by Scrum Alliance to those who have successfully completed a 2-day A-CSPO course and demonstrates your expertise and skills in Scrum.
A-CSPO certification is valid only for 2 years and needs to be renewed after that.
To maintain the Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner certification, you need to submit 30 SEUs and pay $175 for every 2 years.
PDUs (Professional Development Units) and SEUs (Scrum Educational Units) are the credits offered by the Project Management Institute and Scrum Alliance, respectively. Successful completion of educational training or learning opportunities, which serve to validate your participation and continued proficiency helps you earn these PDUs and SEUs.
PDUs and SEUs demonstrate your contribution to the Agile environment by providing credits for any professional achievement that you make in your career. Individuals who hold a credential from Scrum Alliance require to earn a certain number of SEUs for every 2 years to get certified. Similarly, an individual who holds a certification from PMI except the CAPM® needs to earn a certain number of PDUs for every 3 years.
On successful completion of the A-CSPO training, you will receive 16 PDUs and 16 SEUs.
Participants who successfully complete this course and fulfill the required number of Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) for the selected job role can apply to be conferred the IBF Qualified (IBFQ) certification status.

1 What is UTAP?
UTAP is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training. This benefit is to encourage more NTUC members to go for skills upgrading. NTUC members enjoy 50% *unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 and above can enjoy higher funding support up to $500 per individual each year, capped at 50% of unfunded course fees, for courses attended between 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2022.

Step 1: Click on ‘Search Course’ under the “Skills Upgrade Available” tab to find out if the course and training provider is supported under UTAP.
Step 2: Register for course with training provider and attend training. For course information and enrolment, please visit AgileAsia website.
Step 3: Login to the U Portal account to submit the UTAP application. NTUC Members should apply for their UTAP claim within 6 months after course ends. Late applications will be rejected.*
